Canada produces more oil than it consumes, but we export 65% of it to the U.S. We import oil to meet 90% of the needs of the Atlantic region and Quebec, and 30% of Ontario’s needs. There are many stark choices before Canadians in the development of a Canadian energy policy, but CEP promotes a made-in-Canada approach that looks after the needs of Canadians first.
