National Equity Committee

Welcome to the National Equity Committee page on the CEP website.

We are actively working to eradicate from our society all traces of discrimination because of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status or disability.

Our goals are simple:

  • Visibility
  • Education
  • Political Action

We try to achieve this by:

Actively advocating for the participation and representation within our union of the designated groups represented by this committee.

Reviewing union policies and programmes and make recommendations with respect to equity issues.

Organizing Political Action.

Supporting regions and locals in the development and creation of equity committee's in addition to holding caucuses at National and Regional conferences and conventions.

Supporting the implementation of the 'Barrier" report.

Meeting in person twice a year (via conference call in between).

Contact us directly or our staff person if you want to know more or to get active. Click here to find out who we are and our info.
