It’s day 4 at the UN Climate Change talks in Durban and Canada is MIA.
Actually the whole of the Durban discussions seems to be missing from the public radar other than from activist blogs. Why is that? I don’t think it’s because people don’t care – most Canadians believe that protecting the environment and doing our part to end climate change is of utmost importance, poll after poll confirm that.
Today as over 200 nations of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP-17 (UNFCCC - the folks who negotiated the Kyoto protocol), open their meeting in Durban South Africa, we hear in the news that the Harper government intends to pull out of the international environmental treaty next month.
